I love babies, they're frikkin adorable. At the sheer mention of pregnancy the celebration begins for most and slowly builds momentum until the final moments. Why the huge celebration for a chemical reaction from interlocking genitals? Trust me, I think children are wonderful and amazing and not just a byproduct of sex, but it's we are welcoming this kid into THIS world. We welcome them with balloons and multitudes of affection from all sorts of facets of family. That celebration then decays and gives way to a different reality.
Welcome, to this insane crazy world full of talking monkeys and bugs that can kill you. There is some cool and beautiful stuff in this life to be found, given you have the right people leading you and guiding you with love and respect and self-discipline.
What I am getting at is that the celebration is not in the birth but the life of the child. Those tender years of wide eye innocence and wonder. A time to protect as well as culture and teach. The celebration lies within those years that we have with our children. Those are the years to celebrate for the lessons learned and experiences witnessed that will shape the life and outlook of a fellow human being. Let us celebrate happy times and unite in times of need and tragedy, and in turn celebrate overcoming darker times. Celebrate life from start to finish and hold is sacred. We can worry about all these talking monkeys and spiders when we come to them.
